Baseball Game Preview: Sumrall Bobcats vs. Forrest County Agricultural Aggies

For the second straight game, Sumrall will face off against Forrest County Agricultural. The Bobcats will venture away from home to challenge the Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sumrall has five straight wins, Forrest County Agricultural has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Sumrall's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Forrest County Agricultural 8-0. Considering the Bobcats have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Drew Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Leo Odom was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Will Raner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Sumrall's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Forrest County Agricultural, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
