Recap: Boone Braves vs. Master's Academy Eagles
The Boone Braves came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 46-34 win over Master's Academy. Given Boone's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Master's Academy is ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mckenna Murphy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with five assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Boone's points. Another player making a difference was Kate Mccormack, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Master's Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn O'Gallagher and Maria Newman. O'Gallagher scored 16 points, while Newman scored 13 points. The contest was O'Gallagher's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Boone's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Master's Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Boone will be home for the holidays to greet Eustis at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eustis is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Master's Academy will take on Providence School in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Providence School will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
