Baseball Recap: South Dearborn Beats Connersville for Their Third Straight Win

South Dearborn extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 10-7 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Connersville Spartans. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.

Jackson Johnson was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Maddox Williams was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Connersville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Connersville's side, Aaron Kidd put in work no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Kidd a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Parker Flanigan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Connersville is 6-2 when Flanigan posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kolton DeBoard, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, South Dearborn will take on Tell City in a tournament on Saturday. As for Connersville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against New Castle at 6:00 p.m. The Spartans are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
