Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Pinellas Park Patriots

St. Petersburg is 9-1 against Pinellas Park since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The St. Petersburg Green Devils will play host again and welcome the Pinellas Park Patriots, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Hopefully St. Petersburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday.

Last Monday, St. Petersburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-36 to East Lake.

Despite the defeat, St. Petersburg saw an underclassman step up: Quay Curry scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Nique Slone was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.

Pinellas Park posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Dunedin 53-50. The victory was just what Pinellas Park needed coming off of a 64-39 defeat in their prior match.

St. Petersburg now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Pinellas Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

St. Petersburg skirted past Pinellas Park 49-46 when the teams last played on January 11th. Will St. Petersburg repeat their success, or does Pinellas Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
