Softball Game Preview: Chagrin Falls Tigers vs. Wickliffe Blue Devils

The Chagrin Falls Tigers will challenge the Wickliffe Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Chagrin Falls barely beat Kirtland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Hornets a 17-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Wickliffe got the win against Kirtland on Monday by a conclusive 14-0.

Audrey Musgrave and Abby Sulyok did most of the damage at the plate: Musgrave got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Sulyok went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Madison Rusnak was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Wickliffe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wickliffe's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Chagrin Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
