Softball Game Preview: Aptos Mariners vs. Ann Sobrato Bulldogs

The Aptos Mariners will head out to take on the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aptos is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Aptos is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Alisal. Considering the Mariners have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Prospect typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Ann Sobrato proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ann Sobrato saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Bouton, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Ann Sobrato hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Aptos' record is now 16-7. As for Ann Sobrato, their record now sits at 12-10.

Aptos couldn't quite finish off Ann Sobrato in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 and fell 9-7. Can the Mariners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
