Softball Recap: Bronson Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Williston, Bronson was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Newberry Panthers by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Panthers back in February, they had to take a 7-2 defeat.

Julianne Lampton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Makenna Dean was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brystal Howard, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Bronson now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Newberry, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bronson will face off against Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newberry, they will take on Gainesville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.6, the Hurricanes 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
