Volleyball Recap: Legacy Starts off Right with Win over Franklin

Legacy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Franklin Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. The Tigers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 29, 2024.

While Legacy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.

Legacy was led to victory by George Sanchez and Omarr Berumen. Sanchez had 27 assists and five digs, while Berumen had seven digs and four aces. That's the most digs Berumen has posted since back in March of 2024.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Legacy has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Rancho Dominguez on the 28th. Franklin has also already played their next contest (against South Gate), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
