Roosevelt had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Kailua Surfriders. This was a revenge game for the Rough Riders: when they faced off against the Surfriders last Tuesday, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

Riki Uyeno made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Uyeno wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyson Murata, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Roosevelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Kailua, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Roosevelt will square off against rival Kaiser at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rough Riders 3.9, the Cougars 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kailua is set to face off against their familiar foe Kalani at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
