Softball Recap: North Pike Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when North Pike faced off against Brookhaven on Tuesday. The Jaguars fell 8-4 to the Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly four runs.

Ahlyana Houston was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ellyn Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

North Pike dropped their record down to 5-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Brookhaven, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Pike will welcome Sumrall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brookhaven, they will host South Jones at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
