Baseball Game Preview: New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats vs. John Paul II Centurions

The New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats will take on the John Paul II Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Braunfels Christian Academy took a 19-run defeat the last time they faced off against Poth, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. New Braunfels Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Poth on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since March 1, 2024.

David Shoup was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because New Braunfels Christian Academy is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise. Shoup was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Shoup wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kahlig, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kahlig also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, John Paul II made sure to put some runs up on the board against King on Friday. John Paul II blew past King 11-1. Considering the Centurions have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
