Fairmont Senior came into Friday's game looking for another win against University, but Harrison Helbig wouldn't allow it. The Hawks walked away with a 37-28 win over the Polar Bears on Friday for which the team can thank Helbig, who threw for 240 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one rushing score. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Several Polar Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabe Kubasky, who picked up 101 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Tarran Boda was another key back, rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown.

University's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Fairmont Senior, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

University didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-27 loss against Butler on the 3rd. As for Fairmont Senior, they have also already played their next matchup, a 61-30 win against Buckhannon-Upshur on the 3rd.
