Soccer Recap: Elberta Takes a Loss

Elberta came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-0 to the Orange Beach Makos. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Makos: they've now lost six in a row.

Elberta's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Orange Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 9-1-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elberta will square off against Robertsdale at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Elberta will be up against Robertsdale's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.91 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Orange Beach, they will face off against St. Luke's Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with St. Luke's Episcopal sitting on three straight victories and Orange Beach on five.
