Football Recap: Palmetto Ridge Comes Up Short

Palmetto Ridge managed to slip by Ida Baker the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears came up short against the Bulldogs on Friday, falling 32-8. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Nikolas Korf was a one-man wrecking crew For Ida Baker. as he rushed for 254 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Those 254 rushing yards gave Korf a new career-high. Brody Root was another key player, rushing for 40 yards.

Palmetto Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ida Baker, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmetto Ridge will venture away from home to square off against Aubrey Rogers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ida Baker, they will head out to challenge IMG Academy State at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 807 yards in their previous games.
