Basketball Recap: Manual's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Manual had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the DSST: Montview Knights, sneaking past 34-31. The Thunderbolts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Manual's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caylei Walker, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points and six steals. Walker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Jaci Collins-Falcon was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mykah Rimpson, who dropped a double-double on 14 boards and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Seira Acosta, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Manual's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for DSST: Montview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Manual didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 32-31 loss against DSST: Cedar on the 24th. As for DSST: Montview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 38-19 win against Denver West on the 22nd.
