Basketball Game Preview: Parris Prep Academy Panthers vs. Charlotte Elite Academy Soldiers

The Parris Prep Academy Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Charlotte Elite Academy Soldiers at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Parris Prep Academy challenged Potter's House Christian last Saturday. Parris Prep Academy had to suffer through a 95-62 loss at the hands of Potter's House Christian. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 54th in North Carolina, while the Lions are ranked 211th in Florida).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ethan Pack, who posted 27 points. Garrett Morgan was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Elite Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Oak Ridge Military Academy by a score of 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Soldiers have suffered since January 15, 2024.

Parris Prep Academy will have to contain Kaleel Benjamin as he made an impact in Charlotte Elite Academy's last game. He dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Benjamin a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benji Mani, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points.

Charlotte Elite Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Parris Prep Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
