Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillsboro). Everything went their way against the Ellsworth Bearcats on Friday as they made off with a 54-32 win. The Trojans pushed the score to 41-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bearcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Ellsworth's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tucker Goss, who rushed for 164 yards and one score. Goss is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 133 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Jacobs, who rushed for 104 yards.

Hillsboro now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ellsworth, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Hillsboro will challenge Southeast of Saline on Friday. Southeast of Saline's defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so Hillsboro's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Ellsworth, they will be playing at home against Halstead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
