Basketball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Union can now relate to. They took a hard 55-41 fall against the Richfield Wildcats on Monday. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Richfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Union and Richfield are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Union won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Canyon View at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Union likes a good challenge. As for Richfield, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Judge Memorial Catholic at 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
