Basketball Recap: Xander Lipinski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fideles Christian over Georgia Force Christian

Fideles Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 71-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Georgia Force Christian Blue Knights. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Fideles Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xander Lipinski, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianni Peluso, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 16 points.

Lipinski wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Fideles Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Georgia Force Christian only racked up 12 assists.

Georgia Force Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but CJ Britt led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine assists. The match was Britt's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Ducato, who went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points.

Fideles Christian's record now sits at 3-12. As for Georgia Force Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fideles Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Atlanta Adventist Academy at 8:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Fideles Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. After both having extra time off, Georgia Force Christian and White Creek Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Georgia Force Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully White Creek Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
