Baseball Recap: Trinity Trojans vs. Fairview Warriors
Trinity had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-9-1 to make it five. They lost 15-5 to the Fairview Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 back in April.
As for Fairview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by eight runs or more this season.
For Fairview's part, they got a massive performance out of Dylan Sather, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Sather is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Brady Weir was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Trinity will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Center Christian at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Fairview, they will square off against Brookside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
