Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is River Ridge's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Boscobel, River Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Barneveld Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Timberwolves: when they faced off against the Eagles back in April, they had to take a 10-6 defeat.

Blake Reynolds made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because River Ridge is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Reynolds was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Carter Copsey was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

River Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Barneveld, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Ridge will square off against Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Barneveld, they will challenge Pecatonica at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
