Softball Recap: Milford Beats Franklin for Their Third Straight Victory

Milford took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Franklin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Scarlet Hawks had just enough and edged out the Panthers 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Scarlet Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Milford's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cae Pellegrini, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Pellegrini has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Milford pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Franklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6-1.

Coming up, Milford will head out to take on Taunton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklin, they will welcome Sharon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
