Football Recap: Cesar Chavez Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Cesar Chavez unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 7-0 to the Liberty Lions on Tuesday.

Even if they lost, Cesar Chavez's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Zariah Smith-Williams and Malia Woodberry, who racked up five sacks between them.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cesar Chavez will challenge Chandler at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty, they will take on Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
