Softball Recap: Rootstown Rovers vs. Fairbanks Panthers
Rootstown had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They suffered a tough 17-7 defeat at the hands of the Fairbanks Panthers.
For Fairbanks' part, the team relied heavily on Hailey Dee, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Gregory, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
The victory (which was Fairbanks' third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Rootstown will head out on the road to square off against John F. Kennedy Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairbanks, they will play host again on Monday to welcome Mechanicsburg, where first pitch is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.
