Basketball Game Preview: East Tigers vs. Franklin Heights Falcons

The East Tigers and the Franklin Heights Falcons will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for East and four for Franklin Heights.

It was a proper cat-fight when East faced off against Linden-McKinley on Tuesday. East took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Linden-McKinley.

East might have lost, but man, Kaliyah Barron was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Barron has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 21 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makeda Inman, who posted five points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Franklin Heights came up short against Bexley on Saturday and fell 40-27. The match marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

East's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Franklin Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
