Basketball Recap: Henderson Collegiate Comes Up Short

Henderson Collegiate was the 49-33 winner over Excelsior Classical Academy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Henderson Collegiate Pride lost to the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions on the road by a 70-54 margin on Tuesday. The Pride just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Leading Excelsior Classical Academy to victory were Hunter Goss and Shawn Francis-Service. Goss dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 boards, while Francis-Service went 9 of 15 on his way to 22 points. The contest was Francis-Service's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Walczak, who posted nine points.

Henderson Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Henderson Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-43 defeat against Eno River Academy on the 13th. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-47 victory against Woods Charter on the 12th.
