Basketball Recap: Dexter Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Dexter and Madawaska squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Dexter had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Madawaska Owls by a score of 54-52. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Dexter lost, don't look at Bryce Cooper. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-16 to rack up 22 points and three steals. Cooper is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isiah Robinson, who posted 12 points.

Dexter's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Madawaska, their victory bumped their record up to 21-1.

Dexter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madawaska, they will square off against Calais at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calais will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Madawaska surely won't give up without a fight.
