Baseball Recap: Carson Now 9-2 over Last 11 Games

Carson proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Madera Coyotes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since May 17, 2024.

The result came thanks to Anthony Dorado's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Ruan, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base. The Colts are undefeated when Ruan posts three or more hits, but 7-11 otherwise.

Carson has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Madera, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-3 record.

Carson is on the road again on Wednesday to play Clovis North at 10:00 a.m. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Madera, they will take on Oakmont at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
