Baseball Recap: Booker T. Washington Comes Up Short

Booker T. Washington fell victim to Freeport and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Freeport Bulldogs. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Travis Bright was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Booker T. Washington is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Booker T. Washington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Freeman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Booker T. Washington's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Freeport, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-4.

Looking ahead, Booker T. Washington will be playing in front of their home fans against Bixby at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Freeport, they will head out to square off against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
