Basketball Recap: Hope Academy Takes a Loss

Hope Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a 73-44 loss at the hands of the Pathways Eagles. The match marked the Trojan Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Trojan Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dwayne Foreman III, who posted 11 points and seven steals. Foreman III is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Griggs, who put up nine points and seven boards.

Pathways' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Prabjot Singh, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Tarik Fadel Mula, who had 19 points.

Hope Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-7. As for Pathways, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Hope Academy will venture away from home to challenge Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leesburg has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 214 points over their last three contests. As for Pathways, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Specially Fit Academy Regional at 7:00 p.m.
