Soccer Game Preview: Hylton vs. Woodbridge

The Hylton Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Woodbridge Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hylton will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Monday, then bounced right back against Potomac Senior on Thursday. The Bulldogs never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. It was an even better day for Jaida Monroe as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Woodbridge came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with an 8-0 victory. Give Woodbridge's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Woodbridge pushed their record up to 9-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matchups. As for Hylton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Hylton suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Woodbridge when the teams last played back in April. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
