Basketball Game Preview: Crestview Knights vs. Bluffton Pirates

Crestview and Bluffton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Crestview Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Bluffton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crestview will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Crestview is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 71-35 blowout they got against Antwerp. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Bluffton didn't have too much trouble with Van Buren on Saturday as they won 58-40. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Black Knights are ranked 433rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crestview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Bluffton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Crestview and Bluffton were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but Crestview came up empty-handed after a 53-52 loss. Can Crestview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
