Baseball Recap: Pomeroy Wins Going Away Against Tekoa-Rosalia

While Pomeroy put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Tekoa-Rosalia. Pomeroy put the hurt on Tekoa-Rosalia with a sharp 12-0 win. The contest marked the Pirates' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Jett Slusser made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Pomeroy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Nolan Newberg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Pomeroy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Cesar Morphin was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Pomeroy's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Tekoa-Rosalia: the pair will be back at it again later today.
