Basketball Game Preview: Kashmere Fighting Rams vs. Northside Panthers

The Kashmere Fighting Rams will venture away from home to take on the Northside Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Kashmere has given up an average of 53.9 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kashmere is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Yates on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Fighting Rams were beaten by the Lions 73-3. The Fighting Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-0.

Jasyia Baker was Kashmere's leading scorer, having posted two points. Ameliyah West held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They blew past Sharpstown, posting a 63-16 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their 25-point performance the game before.

This is the second loss in a row for Kashmere and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for Northside, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Kashmere took a serious blow against Northside in their previous meeting back in January, falling 37-8. Can the Fighting Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
