Softball Game Preview: Chelan Mountain Goats vs. Brewster Bears

The Chelan Mountain Goats will face off against the Brewster Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Chelan's win against Okanogan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mountain Goats had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountain Goats have posted since March 25th.

Meanwhile, Brewster waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Pioneers by a score of 16-12.

Brewster pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Chelan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Chelan took their victory against Brewster when the teams last played back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 17-6 score. Do the Mountain Goats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
