The Kearns Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Davis Darts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kearns is looking for their season?s first victory.

Last Friday, Kearns was beaten by Northridge 62-13. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 49 points.

Meanwhile, Davis got the win against Mountain Ridge on Friday by a conclusive 40-14. The Darts pushed the score to 37-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Sentinels cut but never quite recovered from.

Tradon Bessinger went supernova for Davis, throwing for 425 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Bessinger is crushing it when it comes to passing yards: he's passed for at least 302 every time he's taken the field this season. Jaxton Itaaehau was Bessinger's top target, picking up 172 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Davis' defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Bode Sparrow and Connor Brown. Sparrow's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging two interceptions.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Davis was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 520 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since was before the start of last season.

Kearns' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Davis, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Kearns suffered a grim 27-7 defeat to Davis in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. Can Kearns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
