Soccer Game Preview: St. Luke's Episcopal vs. Gulf Shores

The St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats will head out to face off against the Gulf Shores Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Tuesday, St. Luke's Episcopal didn't have quite enough to beat St. Paul's Episcopal and fell 2-1. St. Luke's Episcopal haven't had much luck with St. Paul's Episcopal recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Gulf Shores' offense. They came up short against Chattanooga Christian on Friday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Gulf Shores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 129th in Alabama, while Chattanooga Christian are ranked first in Tennessee).

St. Luke's Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 13-6-2. As for Gulf Shores, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14-3 record this season.

St. Luke's Episcopal skirted past Gulf Shores 3-2 in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dolphins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
