Softball Recap: Justin-Siena Braves vs. Sonoma Valley Dragons
Justin-Siena extended their losing streak to 11 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-16 in the process. They lost 13-2 to the Sonoma Valley Dragons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-5 back in April.
Justin-Siena saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Aranda, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Sonoma Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-15. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
On Sonoma Valley's side, Morgan Briggs and Katherine Kiser were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Briggs pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Kiser pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. At bat, Briggs went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Kiser got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
As of now, neither Justin-Siena nor Sonoma Valley have any future games scheduled.
