Baseball Game Preview: Camelback Spartans vs. Cesar Chavez Champions

The Camelback Spartans will square off against the Cesar Chavez Champions at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Camelback will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Camelback is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on South Mountain with a sharp 16-6 victory on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2018, but that streak is no more.

The team relied heavily on Cesar Fernandez, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Figueroa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez didn't have quite enough to beat Apollo on Monday and fell 3-1.

Cesar Chavez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zade Munoz, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Camelback's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-17. As for Cesar Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
