Baseball Game Preview: Southwest Florida Christian King's vs. Out-of-Door Academy Thunder

The Southwest Florida Christian King are taking a road trip to square off against the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Florida Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Southwest Florida Christian got the win against Lely by a conclusive 10-1.

Romie Afanador looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ian Long and Lawson Polhill did most of the damage at the plate: Long went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Polhill scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four RBI gave Long a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reed Guess, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Out-of-Door Academy won against North Port on Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Mariner. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunder.

Southwest Florida Christian's record now sits at 11-7. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their record is now an identical 11-7.
