After a string of four wins, Manteno's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Streator Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 105th).

Manteno's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Streator, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Manteno won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Paxton-Buckley-Loda at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Streator, they and East Peoria will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
