Preview: Strasburg-Franklin Tigers vs. Tuscarawas Valley Trojans
Strasburg-Franklin has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Strasburg-Franklin's 18-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They lost to Claymont on the road by a decisive 55-40 margin on Friday.
Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Valley ended up a good deal behind Malvern on Friday and lost 59-44. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tuscarawas Valley in their matchups with Malvern: they've now lost eight in a row.
The losing side was boosted by John Leffler, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. Cole Clements was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Strasburg-Franklin has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Tuscarawas Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Strasburg-Franklin came up short against Tuscarawas Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 44-34. Can Strasburg-Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
