Soccer Recap: Mesquite Takes a Loss

After flying high against Marcos de Niza last Friday, Mesquite came back down to earth. The Mesquite Wildcats came up short against the Campo Verde Coyotes on Wednesday, falling 5-1. The Wildcats have struggled against the Coyotes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Campo Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Mesquite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Campo Verde, they will square off against Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Catalina Foothills sitting on 16 straight victories and Campo Verde on ten.
