Basketball Recap: Maplesville Starts Season with Victory Against Ellwood Christian

Maplesville took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-37 victory over the Ellwood Christian Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chris Simon had an outrageously good game as he posted 17 points and five assists. Devon Nix was another key player, putting up two points along with five assists and four steals.

Ellwood Christian's loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Maplesville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-17 win against Isabella on the 12th. Ellwood Christian has also already played their next game, an 83-26 defeat against Central on the 12th.
