Soccer Recap: South Gate Takes Down Venice in a Playoff Battle

South Gate had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their defense stepped up to hand the Venice Gondoliers a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. Michael Bernardo had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Rams.

South Gate has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Venice's loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Looking ahead, South Gate will square off against El Camino Real at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Camino Real will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something South Gate surely won't give up without a fight. Venice does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
