Softball Game Preview: Evanston Wildkits vs. Payton College Prep Grizzlies

The Evanston Wildkits will square off against the Payton College Prep Grizzlies at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Evanston turned things around against DePaul College Prep on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Rams.

Delila Liston was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Payton College Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Amundsen on Wednesday, taking the game 5-1.

Johannah Kimbler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Evelyn Suss, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Saya Tanabe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Evanston's victory bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Payton College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 13-15-2.
