Baseball Recap: Encinal Triumphs

Encinal won the last time they faced Las Lomas and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Encinal Jets walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Las Lomas Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jets.

Anthony Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Matan Antebi was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Shaun Pressley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Encinal kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Las Lomas onlymanaged four hits.

Encinal's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encinal will head out to take on College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Las Lomas, they will head out on the road to face off against Saint Mary's at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
