Softball Recap: Moon Area Victorious

Moon Area won against Upper St. Clair on Thursday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Tigers walked away with a 4-1 win over the Montour Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Spartans two weeks ago, they had to take a 10-3 loss.

Katie DeMarco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brooklyn Hall was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Moon Area and bumps their season record up to 6-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Montour, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moon Area will square off against Upper St. Clair at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Montour, they will welcome Ellwood City at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
