It was a good run, but Valparaiso unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbus East Olympians. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Olympians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Valparaiso got a good showing from Kellan Hosek, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

Valparaiso's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Columbus East, their record now sits at 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valparaiso will face off against Merrillville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus East, they will take on Bedford North Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
