The Tracy Bulldogs will take on the Oak Ridge Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tracy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Franklin. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won 21 matches in a row.
Elisa Galli tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Taylor Sansaver was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emalee Cargill, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Tracy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .414 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge got the win against Folsom on Friday by a conclusive 7-1. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.
Ellison Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Brooklyn Paratore was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Emery Glaser was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Tracy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Oak Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.
Tracy's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Bulldogs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Oak Ridge, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Tracy continue to outrun the ball?
